Job summary

Mesne Lea Primary School, part of Prestolee Multi Academy Trust, is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant Level 2 to join our EYFS team. You will support early years learning and work with pupils to reach their potential.

The role is fixed-term until August 2027, with opportunities for CPD and progression within the Trust, and a focus on safeguarding and inclusive practice within a friendly, supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant Level 2 in a primary school.
• Level 2 TA/Childcare qualification with English and Maths Level 2 (GCSE 4/C+).
• Experience supporting individuals and small groups to reach potential.
• Ability to support pupils with SEND; strong literacy, numeracy, ICT.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning through high-quality classroom practice.
• Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to help pupils progress.
• Assist teachers in preparing learning resources and maintaining an engaging classroom environment.
• Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
• Collaborate with teachers and professionals to support children's learning and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including educational visits and extracurricular activities.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
