Job summary

Apex Housing is recruiting a Residential Worker for Belmont Cottages in Derry/Londonderry. The role delivers person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities and complex needs across four cottages, supporting daily operations and resident wellbeing.

We offer permanent roles with 36 hours full-time or 24 hours part-time, with benefits including annual leave, pension, enhanced maternity/paternity pay, sick pay and free onsite parking, plus ongoing training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is required.
• At least 1 year’s experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour in a community or residential setting.
• Experience with administration tasks.
• Currently registered with NISCC, or willing to achieve registration within six months.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, person-centred care while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.
• Support adults with learning disabilities and complex needs to achieve positive outcomes and maximise independence.
• Promote rights, choices and entitlements of service users and respond to individual needs.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation relating to resident support plans is kept up to date.
• Conduct Health and Safety audits and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Deliver services in line with RQIA standards and Apex Housing policies.
• Support residents to engage in social activities and community events.
• Act as a Shift Leader, coordinating workloads and supervising staff as required.
