Location:

Runnymede and Spelthorne area. Offices: Leatherhead and Woking.

Please note: this role involves extensive travel around Surrey, so you must be prepared to travel and work outside office hours as required.

Are you interested in helping people with, or recovering from, mental health problems to reintegrate into work? Do you want to be part of an organization that values professionalism, insight, expertise, and passion to inspire individual recovery? Join us as an Employment Specialist.

We are seeking an Employment Specialist for our Surrey Employment Service. Our service supports individuals with mental health issues to find paid employment or return to their roles after illness. We also assist employers and employees to resolve workplace mental health challenges. Your role is crucial in making this possible.

Your Responsibilities
  1. Help clients source appropriate work experience placements with local organizations/employers.
  2. Engage with and develop relationships with employers, nurturing ongoing partnerships.
  3. Provide support, careers advice, and guidance to help clients set recovery and employment goals.
  4. Offer training in personal and skills development, such as CV writing and interview techniques.
  5. Establish and maintain positive links with community mental health teams, early intervention teams, partner organizations, and local employers.
  6. Develop and promote the service proactively.
  7. Maintain efficient administrative systems to ensure timely referrals, assessments, and reviews.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Good understanding of the IPS model of working and mental health issues.
  • Excellent motivational, presentation, and listening skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the local area and work outside standard office hours as needed.
