Job description

Employment Solicitor (NQ+) Remote working

At Settlement Agreement Solicitors, we care passionately about the experience that our clients have when doing business with us. Clients are placing a great deal of trust in us at a time when they are facing losing their jobs and it is critical that we repay this trust by treating them with the warmth, professionalism, understanding and courtesy that they deserve.

Our fanatical dedication to delivering a 5-star service to our clients has seen us collect some fantastic accolades. We are both the number 1 ranked law firm and employment lawyers in the UK on Trustpilot, with over 9,000 verified 5-star reviews. Why not come and be a part of our success?

What we offer

An exciting opportunity for a qualified Employment Solicitor at any level, from newly qualified upwards. You will join a respected and reputable law firm, doing highly rewarding and fulfilling work in a supportive and flexible working environment, where you will have the ability to further your career aspirations.

Our benefits package includes:
  • A generous base salary of between £45K and £85K dependent on experience. We pay above market rates because, as the UK's number 1 rated law firm, we only hire the best people
  • Additional performance related bonuses
  • 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Company pension scheme
  • £100 per month HEKA wellbeing allowance
  • Support, supervision and mentoring matched to your level of experience
  • The opportunity to broaden your practice into other areas of employment law in the future, as we expand under a new second brand launching in late 2026 called 'EmploymentSolicitors.com'
What will you do?

As an Employment Solicitor, you'll be supporting employees when they are facing the prospect of losing their job due to redundancy, disciplinary or performance issues. Or they need us to help them initiate a means to leave their job due to mistreatment, discrimination or other forms of work place dispute. This is a very difficult time for most employees and you can really make a difference by ensuring that they get the best possible support and advice.

You will work alongside experienced senior solicitors, with support and supervision matched to your level of experience. Because we focus exclusively on settlement agreements, you will quickly build a depth of expertise in this area that few employment solicitors can match.

Your client work will include:
  • Advising employees on the terms and effects of their settlement agreement, both over the telephone and in writing;
  • Negotiating the best terms possible for your clients, both financial and non-financial;
  • Creating exit strategies for employees looking to procure a settlement agreement;
  • Treating your clients with care and empathy, as well as providing technical excellence;
  • Fanatical about delivering an exceptional customer experience every time and getting a 5-star review;
  • Working in a fast growth scale-up with exceptional people and striving to help us maintain our number one position within the industry.
What do you offer?

You will be a qualified solicitor (England & Wales), from newly qualified upwards, with employment law experience, whether gained during your training or through years of post-qualification practice. Experience of settlement agreements, redundancy, unfair dismissal, discrimination or general employment advisory work is desirable, but above all we care about your attitude, your appetite to learn and your commitment to client service. Your salary, and the level of support you receive, will reflect the experience you bring.

Excellent:
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service focus
  • Time management skills and able to prioritise effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce work with precision
  • IT Literacy and experience using case management software
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use your initiative, even when under pressure
  • Problem solving skills
Able to:
  • Demonstrate a passion for client service excellence
  • Deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with team members, the firm's employees and other solicitors
  • Work well under pressure within stipulated timescales and meet deadlines
  • Create effective negotiation strategies that draw upon both commercial and legal points of leverage to secure the best outcomes for your clients
  • Embrace the use of AI and technology in your legal practice to create better efficiency and client outcomes
You will be:
  • Fulfilled by helping your clients achieve a positive outcome
  • Proud of a professional and positive work attitude with the ability to embrace change
  • Committed to delivering the Settlement Agreement Solicitors vision and mission
  • Inspired by being at the forefront of innovation and technology in the legal sector
