Job summary

Brooke Thornham Consulting in Leeds is seeking a solicitor with 1–2 years PQE in employment law to join a 3-partner led team. NQ-2yrsPQE Employment, Leeds

3 partner led Employment team is looking to recruit, ideally at 1-2yrsPQE but 2026 NQs will definitely be considered on merit.

Respondent focused work for a varied client base (large household names to regional SME/OMBs, and education sector clients) both contentious and non-contentious including tribunal claims, and settlement agreements.

You'll benefit from supervision from a number of more experienced colleagues which should be a great career start for a relatively junior Solicitor wanting to build competence and confidence with a credible brand. There will be further ongoing support and training given, but it is important that you've got a base of knowledge so as to be able to be given some of the more straightforward work at your level to get you involved and productive from the outset.

It's a very friendly team without ego's, so a good bunch of people to be working with, and they're genuinely supportive. The team also does regular seminars and training for clients so you'd be able to get involved in that aspect of the department too.

Central Leeds office. Hybrid expectation of attending the office at least 3 days/week which is important to establish your internal relationships, and ensure you're learning through close proximity to colleagues.

Expect a two stage application process to ensure you've met various of the team members and got a really good feel for the firm and the dynamics within the employment team.
