Job summary

Origin Legal Ltd is seeking a newly qualified Employment Lawyer (NQ–2 years) to join its established Employment Team. You will work with two Partners and other lawyers to deliver employment law services to a diverse client base, including employers and employees, with expansion plans in mind.

The role covers day‑to‑day employment advice, settlement negotiations, tribunal advocacy, TUPE guidance, due diligence, and drafting transaction documents. A strong client development focus is expected.

Qualifications

• NQ employment lawyer (0–2 years' pqe) with focus on employment law.
• Ability to work as part of a team and develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Day to day employment advice for employers and employees.
• Negotiating settlement agreements.
• Employment Tribunal work including advocacy.
• TUPE advice, due diligence, and handling employment aspects of transaction documents.
• Developing a client base and participating in business development activities.
• Providing leadership and supervision to junior colleagues.

A newly or recently qualified Employment Lawyer is sought by a large and highly respected regional law firm with an enviable list of clients that include FTSE companies, public and private sector organisations, charities and high net worth individuals.

They now wish to add a Solicitor (NQ - 2 years) to the Employment team. The successful applicant will be an integral part of a well-established team working with two Partners, an Associate, junior Solicitor and trainee, providing employment law services to a solid client base with a view to further expansion. The Employment Team acts for both employers and employees, but with an emphasis of providing support for employers across all aspects of employment law including business immigration.

The role is ideal for an ambitious NQ employment lawyer who wishes to develop their knowledge and skills in the following areas:

• Day to day employment advice for both employers and employees.
• Negotiating settlement agreements.
• Employment Tribunal work including advocacy.
• The employment aspects of corporate support work including TUPE advice, due diligence, drafting and negotiating the employment aspects of the transaction documents including the warranties and indemnities in the sale agreement.
• Developing a client base.
• Initiating business development activities including writing articles, participating in webinars and networking.
• Providing leadership and supervision to trainees and more junior members of the team.
