Job summary

Activate Learning Group is seeking an Employment Coach to support adults facing barriers to employment at Reading College. This permanent, full-time role will involve helping participants become work-ready, building relationships with local employers, and guiding learners toward sustainable employment.

You’ll work to deadlines, manage a caseload, and collaborate with a dynamic team to deliver impactful outcomes for participants and local employers.

Qualifications

  • Ideally you will have previous coaching and/or teaching experience.
  • Ability to influence and support participants using different techniques.
  • Experience of working with neurodiverse and vulnerable adults.
  • Caseload management experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
  • Experience with high performance and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to adults with barriers to employment to become work-ready.

Our Employment coaches are responsible for providing support and guidance to adults with barriers to employment, such as long-term health conditions, neurodiverse, physical and other disabilities, in becoming work-ready; by moving them into sustainable and meaningful employment.

You will build connections with local employers to help them understand the barriers faced by our participants. You will identify employee recruitment needs and actively engage local employers onto the project to create opportunities for our participants to aid a smooth transition for them into work.

This will be a challenging yet rewarding role, working to deadlines to achieve targets. Working closely with project participants to overcome their barriers to employment and address any complex needs using and identifying a raft of local interventions and support packages to ensure they have the skills and confidence to secure and sustain employment.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 37 hours per week based at our Reading College campus.

You will be part of a dynamic team striving to make a positive difference to our participants lives. This role gives you the opportunity to change participants lives through building strong positive relationships and developing participants trust and rapport to guide, motivate, challenge, and encourage participants to securing sustainable employment.

Ideally, you will have previous coaching and/or teaching experience along with,

  • Ability influence and support participants by using different techniques.
  • Experience of working with neurodiverse and vulnerable adults
  • Can demonstrate effective caseload management
  • Experience of working to high performance and compliance standards and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Performance driven and able to achieve set targets.
