Job summary

BCL Legal Limited in London is seeking an Employment Associate at 3-7 PQE to join a leading Legal 500 Employment boutique. The role focuses on transactional employment work and advising on complex business transfers, M&A and outsourcing arrangements.

You will join a dedicated team recognised for its market-leading practice and will work with major clients across jurisdictions, aiming to become a trusted adviser in a high-output environment.

Qualifications

• 3 PQE or more with England & Wales post-qualification experience.
• Strong academics and a solid understanding of employment law.
• Experience with transactional work in employment, M&A and TUPE.

Responsibilities

• Advise on employment aspects of commercial transactions and reorganisations.
• Handle complex M&A and outsourcing arrangements.
• Develop into a trusted adviser for major clients.

The firm / team:

• Successful candidates can look forward to joining one of the most specialised Employment departments in the UK, looking to strengthen their Employment offering with the addition of an Associate to their team.
• They are considered to be arguably the leading boutique law firm in the UK for Employment law, ranked in the top tiers of the Legal 500 for their Employment (Employer/Respondent) law offering.
• You will be joining a large and specialised team, working across various jurisdictions, and various areas of employment law, covering respondent work with a focus on transactional components.
• This is a hardworking firm, offering a market-leading salary with an almost unheard of chargeable hours contribution of 1200.

The role:

• As an Employment Associate within the team, you can expect to undertake a broad range of work with a supportive collegiate department.
• The firm are looking for someone capable of developing into a trusted advisor to their biggest clients.
• The work involved will include advising predominantly on transactional matters, including the employment aspects of commercial transactions, complex M&A and TUPE/ outsourcing arrangements, business transfers and reorganisations.

About you:

• Applications are sought from experienced Associates from 3 PQE upwards, to a maximum of 67years’ post qualification experience, gained in England & Wales or a similar, leading common law jurisdiction.
• You will possess strong academics, and a confident understanding of employment law, ideally from a Top 30/Legal 500 background.
• Candidates should have strong organisation skills and a keen interest in joining one of the UK’s leading Employment law firms.
