Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking an Employment Advisor / Recruiter to support young adults facing barriers to employment. The role is based in Birmingham centre and field-based, visiting surrounding community venues.

You will engage participants, foster relationships with employers and education providers, and offer guidance on benefits. The FTC runs up to Spring 2028 with a possibility of extension, and the package includes holiday entitlement and pension.

• Coaching and mentoring skills required.
• IT literacy essential.

Job Title: Employment Advisor / Recruiter

Salary: £30,000

Type: Full Time, FTC (up until Spring 2028, with a possibility of extension)

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and engaging individual, to support young adults facing barriers to employment, helping them develop their confidence, secure suitable work and sustain long term employment.

Role

• Engage, motivate and support unemployed participants through to gaining sustainable employment or a suitable learning pathway, enabling progression into employment.
• Proactively build relationships with employers and education providers to source and match suitable job opportunities and further education pathways for individuals on your caseload.
• Provide tailored support to help individuals overcome barriers to employment, secure work, and sustain employment through ongoing in-work support.
• Arrange work experience and training opportunities.
• Assess individual needs, offer guidance on benefits and workplace challenges and signpost to relevant services.
• Undertake community outreach to promote the service and support clients’ confidence, wellbeing and progression into work.

Criteria

• Must have experience of working within a similar Employability/Support focussed role, supporting adults with mental health conditions, physical/learning disabilities, etc.
• Experience of employer engagement/recruitment, resulting in the sourcing of job opportunities.
• The ability to demonstrate coaching/mentoring and persuasion/influencing experience.
• Must be IT literate.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
