Job summary

Sovereign & Bale in Spennymoor is seeking an Employment Adviser who is tenacious, highly organised and able to support people with barriers to employment. You will manage a caseload, provide CV writing, interview prep and skills coaching to help participants move into sustainable work.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting with and supporting a caseload of long-term unemployed jobseekers, identifying barriers and creating tailored action plans.
  • Delivering one-to-one guidance including CV writing, interview preparation, and skills development.
  • Meeting and exceeding performance targets and KPIs.
  • Collaborating with participants to build confidence and find opportunities with local employers.
  • Signposting participants to internal and external stakeholders to address barriers (health, housing, finances).
  • Promoting Restart Scheme within the community.

Employment Adviser

Location: Spennymoor


Salary: £29,000 - £30,000


The Role

The role of Employment Advisor requires a tenacious, highly organised, motivating and innovative individual, able to work in a fast paced target driven environment to support people with multiple barriers to move into sustainable employment.


Our Employment Advisors are highly self-motivated individuals who manage a caseload of participants to empower them in to sustained employment. With a positive can do attitude they are adept at brokering and sustaining exceptional relationships through reverse marketing with a myriad of employers and community organisations and stakeholders selling the benefit of work, whilst always putting the participant at the heart of every opportunity they create.


Employment Advisors work in a fast paced targeted driven environment, where prioritisation of own workload and exceptional time management skills are demonstrated daily to ensure effective caseload management, working to deadlines and achieving both KPI and target expectations in a peripatetic setting in the communities they work.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

Taking Ownership


  • Meeting with and supporting a caseload of long-term unemployed jobseekers, identifying their barriers and creating tailored action plans to progress them into employment.

  • Delivering personalised, one-to-one guidance to our participants including CV writing, interview preparation, and skills development.

  • Meeting and exceeding performance targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).


Working Together


  • Collaborating with participants to shift their mindset and build the confidence they need to find and sustain work.

  • Engaging with local employers to identify job opportunities.

  • Signposting participants to internal and external stakeholders to address specific barriers such as health, housing, or financial challenges.

  • Promoting the Restart Scheme within the community, raising awareness of it's benefits and impact.

  • Providing inclusive support and advice to people from all backgrounds.


Essential


  • Ability to demonstrate coaching/mentoring experience andpersuasion/influencingskills through previous work or social activities.

  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment (i.e. Customer Services, Hospitality, Social Care, Customer Services, Sales)

  • Experience of working in a fast paced, performance target driven environment.

  • Willingness to travel locally (e.g. to meetcustomers/employers).
