Job summary

Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is seeking a dynamic leader to manage the Employer Engagement Team on a fixed-term maternity cover for 12 months. The post holder will lead strategic employer relationships and coordinate Careers and Employability activities to involve employers across the university.

You will use data-driven approaches to improve Graduate Outcomes and work with internal and external stakeholders.

Job description

This is a fixed term maternity cover role for 12 months. The postholder's primary responsibilities are the leadership and management of the Employer Engagement Team, and increasing and building strategic relationships with employers, to involve them in Careers and Employability activities and the wider University. A key performance indicator will be to improve the results in the Graduate Outcomes Survey.

You will have experience of leading and motivating a team, managing operational activity, and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. You will bring strong communication, persuasion and planning skills, with the ability to build productive employer relationships, use data to inform activity, and deliver high-quality outcomes.

Careers and Employability are committed to developing the employability of Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) students and graduates by helping them to acquire the skills and experience necessary to progress successfully to graduate-level employment, enterprise and/or further study. We work to improve Graduate Outcomes and fulfil QMUL's strategic ambitions and employability targets by supporting delivery of the university's Employability and Graduate Skills Strategy. We are a team working with various professional services teams and academic departments and providing services to undergraduates, postgraduates and graduates for up to three years postgraduation. Within our service, our teams work collaboratively as School Partnership Teams. The key teams are: Careers Education, Advice and Guidance, Employer Partnerships and Experiential Learning, and Careers and Employability Data and Delivery.
