Job summary

Avon Fire and Rescue Service is seeking an Employee Relations Advisor to support the ER function, provide guidance to managers and employees on people matters, and handle lower-level casework.

You will review People Impact Assessments, assist with attendance management, coordinate the Professional Standards Board and support recruitment, selection and promotion activities. The role requires collaboration across teams and administrative duties related to wellbeing and contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience advising on attendance management and wellbeing support.
• Ability to coordinate meetings and prepare correspondence.
• Experience with Family Leave processes and related calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provide Employee Relations advice to managers and employees on policies, processes and toolkits.
• Arrange occupational health referrals and signpost to welfare support.
• Coordinate case conferences for long-term absences and modified duties.
• Provide advice on performance management, retirements, disciplinary and grievances and ensure admin actions align with policies.
• Support recruitment, selection and promotion activities including shortlisting and interviews.
• Assist with administration of Secondary Contracts as required.
