James Andrews Recruitment Solutions Ltd is recruiting an ER Advisor for a three-month temporary contract in Birmingham. The role is four days on-site with one day from home, offering 37.5 hours per week at a rate of £22 per hour via Umbrella.

You will handle employee relations caseloads and provide guidance on disciplinary, grievance, and performance matters in line with policy. The ideal candidate will have ER casework experience, an enhanced DBS check, and CIPD Level 5 qualifications.

Job description

Our client, an education provider based in Birmingham, are currently recruiting for an ER Advisor to join on a temporary contract for three months with the possibility of going permanent. The rate is circa £22 per hour via an Umbrella company and will be based four days on-site in South Birmingham, with one day per week from home.

The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting with employee relations casework, will need an enhanced DBS check and ideally be CIPD Level 5 qualified.

Duties will include:

• Managing a varied employee relations caseload from initial query through to resolution, identifying and escalating complex or high‑risk cases where appropriate
• Building effective working relationships with managers and employees across the organisation and advising and coaching on disciplinary, grievance, performance and capability matters
• Supporting short and long‑term absence cases and advising on appropriate next steps
• Ensuring casework is handled fairly, consistently and in line with policy and employment legislation
• Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date case records, correspondence and supporting documentation

Working hours:

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
