Job summary

QC Legal in Manchester seeks an established Wills, Trusts & Probate Partner or senior private client lawyer with partnership aspirations. The role covers high-value private client matters for HNW individuals and businesses, with a focus on estate planning, trusts and tax planning.

The position offers a senior, influential role within a growing department, with hybrid working, an employee-owned culture and a generous partnership package designed to reward performance and client development.

Qualifications

• Established Wills, Trusts & Probate Partner or senior private client lawyer with partnership aspirations.
• Experience in a national firm or strong regional practice.
• In-depth knowledge of wills, trusts, estate administration, tax planning and probate.
• STEP qualification or working towards STEP accreditation is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage and develop long-standing client relationships.
• Experience supervising and mentoring junior lawyers.
• Strong technical expertise with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Commercial approach to business development and practice growth.
• Following or referrer network welcomed but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead on complex estate planning, inheritance tax mitigation and asset protection strategies.
• Advise on creation and administration of trusts including family investment company structures.
• Handle administration of estates with significant assets and complex tax considerations.
• Provide advice on lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters.
• Supervise and develop junior team members; contribute to department growth.
• Strengthen existing client relationships and generate new business opportunities.
