Job summary

Gower College Swansea is seeking an Employability Coach to join on a full-time, term-time, permanent basis. The role focuses on supporting the Employment Bureau, careers events, and learner employability guidance, including CV workshops and part-time work opportunities.

The position is 37 hours per week, term-time (40 weeks/year), based at Tycoch and Gorseinon campuses in Swansea. Salary ranges from £26,208 to £28,482 per annum, with benefits and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Level 3 or above qualification, together with Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Hold an Advice and Guidance qualification or have relevant experience.
  • Have experience delivering employability-related projects, activities, careers fayres or upskilling sessions.
  • Have the ability to plan and manage your own workload, build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and work flexibly to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day delivery of the College's Employment Bureau, ensuring effective coverage across the main hubs at Tycoch and Gorseinon and satellite activities on other sites as required.
  • Case manage learner referrals to the Employment Bureau, monitoring progress and reporting on outcomes.
  • Provide employability advice and support to learners, including support with CVs, applications, careers fayres, upskilling sessions and part-time work opportunities.
  • Work with curriculum and support teams to match learners with appropriate employment opportunities and support learner progression within and beyond the College.

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Employability Coach to join Gower College Swansea on a full-time, term-time, permanent basis.

The successful candidate will support the effective delivery, quality, performance and promotion of the College's Employment Bureau. The role will focus on providing high-quality support for Employment Bureau operations, careers fayres and employment advice for learners.

You will also work closely with curriculum and support teams to support learner progression, including employability advice and guidance, CV workshops, support with part-time work opportunities and activities aligned to curriculum needs and local market demand.

About You

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year, subject to a start date before 1st February.
