Job summary

St Peter’s CE First School in Uttoxeter seeks a skilled teaching assistant to join its qualified staff. You will support teaching and pastoral activity, contribute to a caring Christian school ethos, and help deliver high standards of education and care for our pupils.

The role is 3 days per week (19.5 hours), term-time only, with an initial fixed-term contract to 31 August 2027. Training opportunities and a supportive team accompany this post.

Qualifications

• An outstanding, skilled teaching assistant, with school-based experience.
• A consummate professional with strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills; supports academic and pastoral guidance.
• Empathetic, safeguarding-oriented with Christian values.

Responsibilities

• Work with our children to provide pastoral, spiritual and academic guidance.
• Collaborate with the teaching and learning team to support a positive school culture.
• Safeguard children and participate in school safeguarding responsibilities.
