Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Twickenham from September 2026. You will support students aged 11–16 with SEN, helping them access lessons, build confidence and participate in learning and social activities.

The role involves personal care support, mobility assistance with wheelchairs, and collaborating with staff to deliver tailored strategies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Experience with personal care duties
• Knowledge of wheelchair handling and moving and handling procedures
• A-Level qualifications, degree, or equivalent
• Experience in a school, care, support work, or child-related setting
• Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
• Positive attitude with excellent communication skills
• Genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs

Responsibilities

• Support SEN students to access learning and develop confidence
• Assist with transfers between wheelchair and seating and use hoists safely
• Work with teaching staff to implement tailored support and encourage positive outcomes
