Humly is recruiting a patient and nurturing SEN Learning Support Assistant to support children in a Reception class at a primary school in Carlisle. This full-time role starts after the October half-term and runs for the remainder of the Autumn term, with the potential to continue into 2027.

You will provide calm, consistent support to help children with special educational needs settle in, build confidence and access early learning activities in a caring, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs.
• Interest or experience in Early Years/Reception.
• Ability to adapt to individual learning needs and routines.

Responsabilités

• Provide SEN support to children in a Reception class.
• Help pupils settle into school routines and feel comfortable in the classroom.
• Support children with additional needs to access early learning activities.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and independence.
• Provide patient, nurturing support tailored to individual needs.
• Help children participate in play-based learning and classroom activities.
• Support positive behaviour, emotional regulation and transitions throughout the day.
• Work with the class teacher and school team to follow agreed support strategies.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and encourage confidence.
