Job summary

Randstad Student & Worker Support seeks an empathetic GCSE Maths Tutor for 1:1 home tuition with a high‑achieving 16‑year‑old who missed Year 11 due to illness. Sessions are tailored, gentle, and paced to build confidence and stamina for GCSE Maths in November 2026.

The role requires SEN experience (ASD), understanding of Fatigue/Anxiety, flexible scheduling with rest breaks, and safeguarding via enhanced DBS. Location is the student’s home.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include GCSE Maths expertise and exam prep strategies.
• Experience with learners on the Autism Spectrum (ASD) and sensory sensitivities.
• Understanding of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME) and need for rest breaks and pacing.
• Strong relational, empathetic, non-judgmental approach to rebuild trust.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality 1:1 GCSE Maths tuition in brief, manageable bursts (20–60 minutes).
• Adapt materials to student interests (e.g., animal care) to boost engagement.
• Maintain flexible, low-demand sessions around energy levels and health needs.
• Support progression toward post-16 vocational pathways (e.g., Animal Management).
