Job summary

The South Hampshire College Group is seeking an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant to join their team at Fareham College on a term-time basis (37 weeks). You will support learners with emotional literacy needs, develop intervention plans, and work with safeguarding and enrichment teams to promote wellbeing and resilience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in education, pastoral or support settings.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships and provide individual support.
• Knowledge of emotional wellbeing, SEND and SEMH needs.
• Capable of planning and delivering structured interventions.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals or groups of young people with Education and Health Care Plans and SEND.
• Establish supportive relationships and be available to offer individual support.
• Develop and implement programmes to develop emotional literacy and wellbeing.
• Implement and review intervention programmes as outlined in Plans.
• Create and produce resources for intervention programmes.
• Plan and deliver individualised programmes and workshops.
• Deliver workshops to support emotional literacy of all students.
• Collaborate with safeguarding and enrichment teams for mental health wellbeing.
• Maintain records and case notes with confidentiality.
