Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a junior interior designer to support project teams with design and technical tasks under supervision. The role involves revising drawings, preparing interior documentation, organizing materials, and contributing to concept development.

The candidate should have an accredited degree in Interior Design or Architecture, up to 3 years of experience, and familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD and FF&E. Travel may be required, with opportunities to grow within a renowned firm.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture or related field.
• 0-3 years of experience typical.
• Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
• Knowledge of FF&E to carry out design intent.
• Knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Revise drawings, presentations and renderings under lead designer.
• Assist with preparing implementation document sets (interiors plans, elevations, details).
• Organise files, materials and displays.
• Assist in developing and managing furniture and interior fittings packages.
• May complete site surveys and test fit plans.
• Contribute to interiors concepts based on client vision and project scope.
• Use creative thinking to achieve innovative solutions.
• Conduct research for the project team.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers during finish sample procurement.
• Communicate with other disciplines to incorporate information into project requirements.
• Review RFIs and submittals during construction.
• Participate in product presentations to stay current on industry products.
• Attend team meetings to discuss project issues and coordination.
• Travel may be required.
