Job summary

AtkinsRéalis’s Water Management Consultancy in the UK seeks a Junior Freshwater Ecologist to support river and wetland assessments, restoration and Biodiversity Net Gain work. You’ll contribute to ecological input, field surveys and environmental planning across UK projects, collaborating with engineers and planners to achieve robust environmental outcomes.

You will develop professionally through CPD, benefit from flexible hybrid working, and contribute to diverse and impactful river catchment

Qualifications

• A degree with a strong focus on freshwater ecology.
• Experience of undertaking river and wetland habitat surveys.
• Familiar with IT tools and software such as GIS and Excel.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive and secure positive environmental outcomes across projects.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide ecological input.
• Support field surveys and technical reporting, including habitats and Biodiversity Net Gain work.
• Maintain relationships with environmental scientists, engineers and planners to provide an integrated service.
