Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services in Oxford is seeking an Emergency Response Officer for the MINI Plant Oxford. You will join a multi‑skilled team handling emergency response, fire safety, and first aid within a high‑profile automotive site.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, SIA Front Line Licence, and the ability to pass medical/fitness tests; shifts are 12 hours with 4 on/off cycle, including days/nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and valid SIA Front Line Licence (or willingness to obtain)
• Pass a medical and fitness assessment including breathing apparatus
• Strong communication skills and professional approach
• Flexible to work days, nights and weekends
• Ability to pass security vetting and random drug/alcohol testing
• Basic to intermediate IT skills

Responsibilities

• Provide a high-visibility, proactive security presence across the site
• Respond rapidly and effectively to fire alarms, medical incidents, and environmental emergencies
• Support and actively contribute to the Emergency Response Team, including training and daily planning
• Maintain and inspect specialist emergency equipment to operational standards
• Conduct internal and external patrols, searches, and incident reporting
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security procedures

Location: MINI Plant Oxford

Salary: £33,109.44 per annum (based on 4 on 4 off)

Hours: 12‑hour shifts (days, nights & weekends – average 42 hours per week)

Overtime: Regular overtime available

Main Duties

As an Emergency Response Officer, you will play a critical role in keeping people, property, and operations safe.

Essential

• Full, clean UK driving licence
• Valid SIA Front Line Licence (or willingness to obtain – fully funded)
• Ability to pass a medical and fitness assessment (including breathing apparatus)
• Strong communication skills and professional approach

• Ability to pass security vetting and random drug/alcohol testing
• Basic to intermediate IT skills

Desirable

• FREC 3 (First Response Emergency Care) qualification

Please note: Due to breathing apparatus requirements, candidates must be clean‑shaven or maintain a tightly trimmed goatee‑style beard for safety compliance.
