Job summary

Kettering Buccleuch Academy is seeking a First Aid Lead to manage day-to-day emergency first aid and related administrative tasks within a busy secondary school. The role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to respond calmly to medical situations, while maintaining records and stock of first aid supplies.

The successful candidate will join the administrative team and support safeguarding, confidentiality and health/wellbeing initiatives for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, skills, understanding and experience relevant to First Aid Lead in a busy secondary school environment.
• Organised, reliable and confident in managing first aid and medical situations; calm and professional in emergencies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build professional relationships with students, staff, parents and healthcare professionals.
• Strong confidentiality, safeguarding and adherence to procedures for student wellbeing.
• Ideal candidate will have relevant first‑aid qualifications and experience of providing first aid in school, healthcare, workplace or similar setting.
• Confident in assessing situations, responding to injuries/illness, maintaining records and keeping first aid supplies up to date.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day assessment and provision of emergency first aid.
• Oversee administrative functions of assessment and emergency first aid/mental health first aid provision.
• Be part of the administrative team and support day-to-day tasks.
• Support health, safety and wellbeing of students and staff.
