• Providing senior nursing leadership and professional oversight for Emergency and Paediatric Emergency Care services.
• Leading quality, safety, governance, safeguarding, infection prevention and medicines management agendas to ensure compliance with national standards and regulatory requirements.
• Promoting and maintaining high standards of patient care, clinical practice and patient experience through visible and compassionate leadership.
• Leading patient flow, capacity management and escalation processes to support effective emergency care pathways and delivery of performance standards.
• Ensuring safe staffing levels, workforce planning, recruitment, retention, staff wellbeing and professional development across the Emergency Department.
• Managing and responding to clinical and operational risks, incidents, complaints and patient safety concerns, ensuring learning is embedded and improvements are sustained.
• Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, senior clinicians, operational leaders and external partners to improve patient outcomes and service effectiveness.
• Leading quality improvement, transformation and innovation programmes that support continuous improvement in patient care, workforce effectiveness and operational performance.
• Monitoring and delivering quality, workforce and operational performance metrics, providing assurance to divisional and corporate governance structures.
• Acting as a role model for Trust values and fostering an inclusive, positive culture that supports excellence, continuous learning and compassionate care.
