Pertemps Recruitment Partnership, on behalf of London Borough of Harrow, is hiring a Careline Response Officer for an essential out-of-hours Helpline role in Harrow. Duties include emergency response, daily rounds, recording actions, and liaising with wardens and care teams.

The position is 36 hours per week with a 24-hour rota, on-site work and travel within the borough. A valid driving licence, access to a car, business insurance and Enhanced DBS are required.

Formación

• Experience caring for others or supporting vulnerable people in paid or voluntary capacity.
• Experience dealing with emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage sensitively with elderly and vulnerable people.
• Strong written and verbal communication and accurate record-keeping.
• Current First Aid certificate and willingness to participate in ongoing training.
• Physically able to assist or transfer frail/disabled residents.
• Flexibility to work shifts as part of a 24-hour rota, including weekends and bank holidays.

Responsabilidades

• Provide emergency response and support to elderly and disabled residents via the Helpline Alarm Service when keyholders are unavailable.
• Carry out Daily Rounds at sheltered housing schemes when wardens are off duty, delivering full resident-warden support.
• Attend emergency calls promptly, gain access, summon help, assist physically, contact relatives and services, and update the Helpline.
• Keep accurate records of actions taken during emergency and routine calls.
• Report defects or urgent repairs to maintenance or helpline teams.
• When wardens are absent, perform routine fire alarm testing, smoke alarm batteries, and key fob programming.
• Provide access for contractors and ensure buildings are secure after incidents.
• Relay welfare information to Care Management and liaise with wardens and scheme staff.
• Support Helpline Control Station operations, including alarm installation duties and call-handling backup.
