The Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a band 7 Emergency Care Practitioner to join their dynamic Emergency Department team. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, working autonomously, and engaging in professional development opportunities. The Trust is committed to high-quality care and values their staff as part of their community.
The Royal Surrey County Hospital Emergency Department sees approximately 75,000 patients every year. To support and enhance the care we provide, we are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic band 7 ENP/ECP/EPP to join our Emergency Department team.
We have introduced dynamic patient pathways to improve patient flow and experience, resulting in significant improvements in the department’s performance. Our team is motivated, energetic, and committed to delivering the highest standards of evidence-based care. We are passionate about emergency nursing and serving our local community.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Emergency Care Practitioners (ENP / EPP) to work within the Emergency Department at The Royal Surrey NHS Trust. Candidates should be clinical experts working autonomously, providing patient-centered care including assessment, examination, diagnosis, treatment, referral, and discharge for patients with minor injuries and illnesses. You will work within locally agreed protocols and Patient Group Directives. Independent Nurse Prescribing is desirable but not essential. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience working autonomously in an emergency environment and possess effective communication skills and a positive attitude.
In-house teaching from ED consultants and extensive professional development opportunities are available.
The role involves independently assessing, investigating, diagnosing, treating, referring, or discharging patients attending the Emergency Department, within the scope of practice for ENP/ECP or Nurse Practitioner. The post holder will provide assessment, treatment, care, and education to patients from all age groups, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. The position may require working at any site where services are delivered by the Trust.
Royal Surrey is a compassionate and collaborative acute and community Trust. We recognize that our 5,000 colleagues are our greatest strength and offer a comprehensive health and wellbeing program, along with a commitment to career development. Our diverse and welcoming community will ensure you feel valued from your initial interview through your entire tenure.
We are clinically led and facilitate integrated care by bridging hospital and community services, alongside regional specialist cancer care. Our main hospital is in Guildford, with community hospitals in Milford, Haslemere, and Cranleigh. We also provide adult community health services across Guildford and Waverley.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has rated us as "Outstanding" overall.
Royal Surrey has a proud history and is investing in its future, with over £45 million planned for upgrades and new equipment in the coming years. Now is an excellent time to join us.
Note: Although it isn't the Trust’s usual practice, adverts may close early, so early application is encouraged.
