Job summary

GitHub is seeking an EMEA Labour Relations Consultant who will serve as the primary liaison with employee representative bodies across Germany, the Netherlands, France, and the UK. The role also leads the creation of new worker representative structures as business needs grow, ensuring lawful, constructive social dialogue and organizational health.

You will partner with Works Councils, develop company agreements, and drive strategic advisory sessions while aligning with local regulatory

Qualifications

• 8+ years work experience in human resources, business programs, or related field.
• Extensive experience in Labor/Industrial Relations with high-trust relationships with employee representative bodies.
• Familiarity with BetrVG (Germany Works Council) and WOR (Netherlands Works Council); foundational understanding of the French Labor Code for CSE structures.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Works Councils and employee representatives to create and deliver consultation timelines.
• Lead the development of Company Agreements with a focus on sustainable outcomes for both the company and employees.
• Act as a reliable point of contact for employee representatives, providing clear business context for dialogue.
• Manage the co-determination process in Germany (BetrVG) and support discussions on modern working practices, IT systems, and wellbeing.
• Engage Works Councils early in decision-making, delivering advisory sessions and facilitating consultation.
• Facilitate Social and Economic Committee proceedings aligned with local requirements and compliance.
• Support UK employee forums by providing a platform for consultation and information sharing.
• Lead establishment of new Works Councils in additional EMEA countries with governance guidance.
• Identify friction areas early and address them through informal dialogue to prevent escalations.
• Coach leaders and implement capability-building programs for organisational effectiveness.
• Partner with Centres of Excellence to deploy AI-driven labour relations programmes across EMEA.
