Job summary

Next Frontier Capital in London seeks a senior Gas and Power Trader to price and manage risk in vanilla and structured energy transactions across EMEA. The role focuses on generating commercial ideas and risk-management strategies in a fast-paced market.

As a Vice President or Executive Director, you will work with sales and banking partners to grow the gas and power franchise. You will shape pricing models, assess trends in energy transition and lead a team through multiple transaction life

Qualifications

• Significant demonstrable experience trading European gas and power benchmarks in physical and derivatives contexts.
• Strong understanding of gas and power options and their use in structured trading (time, location, cross-asset basis).
• Competent grasp of logistics and delivery in short-term gas and power trading.
• Solid understanding of power and gas fundamentals modelling and analysis.
• Proven ability to translate fundamental analysis and quantitative modelling into trading opportunities and asset optimization strategies.

Responsibilities

• Price and manage physical and derivative risks across EMEA gas and power markets.
• Structure and execute complex and bespoke transactions in the EMEA gas and power space.
• Help set up access to new markets to harvest future opportunities in structured trading.
• Drive growth of the client franchise via risk management and asset optimization solutions.
• Contribute to development of pricing models and analytical infrastructure as required.
