Job summary

J.P. Morgan's Commercial & Investment Bank in Europe seeks an Associate to join the EMEA Financial Institutions team, covering Banks, Insurances and Sovereign clients. You will conduct credit analysis, manage exposures, and help shape risk decisions across a broad product set.

You will work with senior stakeholders, guide junior staff, and ensure adherence to risk policies while coordinating with product specialists and Credit Officers to align approvals.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated analytical rigor and credit judgment.
• Proficiency in financial analysis and scenario analysis for wide-ranging client/product suite.
• Familiarity with AI tools to support analysis and efficiency.
• Knowledge of transaction structures and documentation to support negotiation and execution.
• Strong project management with end-to-end ownership of workstreams.
• Clear written and verbal communication; credibility with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to coach and develop junior colleagues.
• Self-directed, results-oriented, adaptable and improvement-driven.
• Previous experience in a comparable credit or risk environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare concise credit analysis with clear recommendations on risk appetite, grading, and structuring.
• Support due diligence, leading where required, and prepare credit analysis of counterparties.
• Conduct portfolio-level and client-specific stress testing and articulate conclusions to stakeholders.
• Negotiate Markets documentation (ISDA, GMRA etc.) and loan documentation (LMA standards).
• Manage and monitor the credit risk portfolio across sectors and products; adjust limits and exposures.
• Cover a broad product set across markets products, secured/unsecured loans, trade finance, and treasury products.
• Coordinate with senior leaders to align risk decisions and approvals.
• Apply firm risk management policies and engage with Regulators and Auditors.
• Develop junior talent through coaching and training.
