Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented, self-directed EMEA Event Manager to develop and grow the cloud computing businesses in Europe, Middle East, and Africa.

The EMEA Event Manager role is responsible for developing, improving, executing, and measuring highly impactful B2B event programs. This is a fixed-term contract for 14 months (maternity cover). This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in an industry-leading technology business.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Own end-to-end event projects, including strategy, goal setting, budget management, agency management, project planning, stakeholder management, delivery, result tracking, and debriefs.
  2. Drive enablement, scale, and process improvements for AWS presence at third-party events across EMEA, including those with a strong AI focus.
  3. Develop and own the overall event strategy for AWS at third-party events in EMEA, aligning with global and local stakeholders.
  4. Utilize data and customer feedback to continuously improve event programs and customer experience.
  5. Deliver measurable results with clear ROI reporting.
  6. Innovate and anticipate future trends to enhance event impact.

The role can be based in Munich (Germany), Amsterdam (Netherlands), or London (UK).

About the team

The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) team is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth across various customer segments, from small and mid-market to enterprise and public sector.

The EMEA Events & Sponsorship Team within SMGS is a diverse group of driven event, program, and sponsorship managers committed to delivering innovative event strategies, planning, enablement, and execution for AWS and third-party trade shows. We prioritize our customers, innovate continuously, and foster a fun, collaborative environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in an event-related role
  • Proven success in developing, owning, and executing B2B event programs end-to-end
  • Experience in enhancing brand presence at large B2B trade shows
  • Ability to drive enablement support to scale event efforts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Innovative mindset with problem-solving skills and adaptability to ambiguity
  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams
  • Proficiency in using data and metrics to measure impact and guide improvements
  • Willingness to travel and ability to work independently across time zones
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • Work experience in a (global) tech company
  • Experience in Generative AI Marketing
