Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Commissioning Director, EMEA, to own the gating of capacity across Norway, UK, Finland and the US. You will define the commissioning standard, sign off critical readiness, and build the platform and team to scale from 20MW to multi-gigawatt campuses.

This role requires 60–70% international travel, deep experience in high-density liquid cooling, HV/MV commissioning, and cross-border collaboration across multiple jurisdictions. Relocation support is available.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in critical facilities engineering.
• 8+ years leading commissioning at programme or portfolio level.
• Experience with large-scale data centre capacity (50MW+).
• Travel 60–70% internationally.

Responsibilities

• Author and own the Group Commissioning Execution Standard — the L0–L6 framework, test scripts, witness and evidence rules, defect taxonomy and turnover package specification.
• Hold the acceptance gate: no system is energised, accepted or handed over anywhere in the group without your sign-off.
• Select, deploy and govern a single commissioning management platform across the portfolio.
• Make sure commissioning is integrated into every project master programme from the outset.
• Work with Procurement, Legal and Delivery to embed acceptance criteria and witness rights into EPC and OEM packages.
• Own the methodology for closed-loop direct-to-chip liquid cooling and CDU testing.
• Own high-consequence electrical testing including HV energisation sequencing.
• Recruit and lead internationally mobile teams; build succession across borders.
• Own operational readiness and transfer to Operations with complete as-builts and SOPs.
• Set safe-work regimes for energisation and testing across jurisdictions.
• Lead commissioning relationships with tenants, lenders and insurers.
