Job summary

Applus+ 3C Test, part of Applus+ Laboratories, is seeking an EMC Test Engineer in the UK to join the team for an afternoon shift (1:00 PM – 9:00 PM).

You will perform EMC testing, operate test systems, and ensure compliance with ISO 17025 and Applus+ procedures, while coordinating with clients and internal teams to deliver accurate reports.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• HNC/HND/NVQ Level 4 in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 2 years of EMC testing experience in automotive/military/aerospace environments.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Perform UKAS-accredited and non-accredited testing per standards and test plans.
• Set up and operate EMC test systems; ensure quality and efficiency.
• Verify equipment readiness and documentation; ensure alignment with plans and manuals.
• Execute tests per Applus+ 3C procedures; maintain ISO 17025 awareness.
• Monitor, maintain and verify calibration; record usage and faults.
• Document and report test results; prepare EMC compliance reports as required.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers on technical and administrative matters.

We are currently looking for a EMC Test Engineer to join our team on a stable basis.

What you will do

• Perform UKAS-accredited and non-accredited testing on customer equipment in accordance with relevant standards and test plans.
• Set up and operate EMC test systems, ensuring all laboratory activities are conducted efficiently and in line with quality requirements.
• Verify equipment readiness and documentation prior to testing, ensuring compliance with quotations, test plans, and the Quality Manual.
• Execute tests following Applus+ 3C procedures, meeting ISO 17025 standards and maintaining awareness of the latest documentation versions.
• Monitor, maintain, and verify calibration of test equipment, accurately recording usage and reporting any faults or inconsistencies.
• Document and report test results, ensuring completion of worksheets and preparation of accurate EMC compliance reports when required.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers on technical and administrative matters, while maintaining a professional work environment and laboratory standards.

Key Requirements

• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Full UK driving licence
• Availability to work the afternoon shift (1:00 PM to 9:00 PM)

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
• HNC/HND/NVQ Level 4 in Electrical Engineering
• At least 2 years of experience in EMC testing within an automotive, military and / or aerospace environment. Experience in multiple disciplines is advantageous
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
