Job summary

QinetiQ in Farnborough is seeking an Electronic Technician to support EMC and TEMPEST testing on customer systems, helping ensure safety, security and performance of critical defence and national security projects. The role is 37 hours per week, on‑site at Farnborough with regular UK travel.

We offer training from an electrical/electronics apprenticeship or qualification, with structured development and mentoring to help you grow alongside our experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Electrical or electronics apprenticeship or qualification with ability to learn on the job.
• Willingness to travel occasionally in the UK or overseas.
• Training provided across the role while developing essential skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, setup and execution of EMC/TEMPEST tests.
• Set up customer equipment for EMC and TEMPEST testing.
• Conduct EMC/TEMPEST measurements using specialist RF equipment.
• Analyse test data and contribute to technical test reports.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and customers to ensure smooth test delivery.
