Job summary

Lorien in Portsmouth is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for a contract role inside IR35. The role focuses on developing wireless solutions and embedded software in C/C++, on platforms like Microblaze or RISC-V. You will work in an agile team, configure U-Boot, kernel and device trees, and build Embedded Linux systems with Buildroot/Yocto.

SC clearance is required or willing to undergo clearance. This hands-on position offers the chance to deploy prototypes to production environments and

Qualifications

• Experience programming Embedded systems in C/C++.
• Experience with bare-metal and Embedded Linux environments.
• Experience with Linux device drivers, including DMA, interrupts and device trees.
• Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing.
• Knowledge of software defined radio.

Responsibilities

• Prototype innovative wireless solutions.
• Develop Embedded software and firmware in C/C++, on Microblaze or RISC-V.
• Work in an agile environment to build prototypes.
• Take proven prototypes forward to a deployment-ready standard.
• Work with Embedded Linux, Buildroot and Yocto.
• Configure U-Boot, Kernel and device trees.
• Build and deploy Embedded Linux systems in offline environments.
