Job summary

Premier Technical Recruitment Ltd's client is seeking a Software Engineer in Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, to design, develop and maintain software for embedded and control systems used in locomotive products. The role requires a strong background in C/C++, Python and RTOS, and a track record in delivering reliable software within industrial environments.

The candidate will work across cross-functional teams, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance while contributing to new product

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in software/engineering related field required.
Minimum 5 years of software design and development experience.
Experience in industrial, transportation, or embedded systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and maintain software for embedded and control systems.
Produce architectures, specifications and detailed design documentation.
Implement, test and debug software to ensure functionality and reliability.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and systems teams for hardware/software integration.
Support fault investigations, RCA and corrective actions related to software.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality and regulatory standards and contribute to process improvements.
Develop, implement and maintain telematic data using IoT cloud-based solutions for remote monitoring.
