Job summary

Rullion Limited is recruiting an Embedded Software Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire on a on-site, permanent basis. You will design and develop embedded software across electronics systems, delivering robust solutions that meet deadlines, quality and regulatory standards.

• Significant experience in embedded software design and development within electronics/embedded systems.
• Degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics or related discipline.
• Strong analytical, logical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, disciplined and innovative approach.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong customer and quality focus.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering team.
• Experience with C/C++, C#, Visual Studio, .NET/MFC, Visual Basic, Windows CE 5.0/CE 6.0, ARM9, 8051, PIC, x86, SQL, Assembler, RTOS.
• Knowledge of fault analysis, testing (FAT, site testing), change control and version control.
• Rail industry experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software for a range of electronics systems in line with project requirements.
• Deliver robust, reliable and cost-effective software to customer deadlines.
• Ensure software designs meet industry, design, quality, H&S and regulatory standards.
• Apply and improve embedded software development best practice.
• Support fault analysis, testing, commissioning and technical problem solving.
• Conduct unit and integration testing, FAT and site testing/commissioning.
• Follow change control and version control processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and project teams to meet objectives.
• Report quality, H&S or other issues to the Engineering Manager.
• Ensure projects are delivered within timescales, cost and quality targets.

Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements

• Significant experience in embedded software design and development within an electronics, embedded systems or similar engineering environment.

• Knowledge or experience of fault analysis, unit and integration testing, Factory Acceptance Testing, site testing and commissioning, test procedures, change control and version control.
• Rail industry experience and knowledge of relevant rail standards would be desirable but is not essential.
