Job summary

Join a company with over 30 years of experience in designing, manufacturing, and delivering bespoke solutions in the Defence and Security sector, focusing on maritime products. They are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with experience in Signal Processing to work on cutting-edge sonar projects.

Important: Candidates must be eligible for UK SC (Security) clearance. The role involves onsite presence 2-3 days per week, working with test rigs and embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Designing software solutions
• Implementing and testing software in Assembler and C, including unit and integration testing
• Implementing, integrating, and optimizing sonar signal processing algorithms
• Developing maintainable code
• Loading code onto embedded hardware and conducting tests
• Supporting verification through defect analysis and resolution
• Peer reviewing design and code
• Designing software architecture with UML and Enterprise Architect
• Estimating work and building work package backlogs
• Tracking progress with Azure DevOps
• Providing progress reports and participating in sprint planning and retrospectives

Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

• Proficiency in C development
• Experience in embedded system design
• Understanding of signal processing techniques
• Experience in software/hardware integration and fault resolution
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
• Experience with FPGA and DSP hardware
• Familiarity with Python is advantageous

You will report to the Director of Software and must be eligible for UK SC clearance. Candidates should be within commuting distance of West London.
