Job summary

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, part of Spirax Group, is seeking a Software Developer focused on embedded systems to create the next generation of devices for pharmaceutical manufacturing and beyond.

You will work across bare-metal embedded, motor control, networking and application layers, using C++ on ARM Cortex-M and collaborating with hardware and software teams.

The role offers hybrid working with three days in the office in Redruth, Cornwall, and a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Strong fundamentals in writing well-architected and tested code with TDD.
• Experience in at least one lower-level language (C++ preferred) and one higher-level language (C#, Python, or JS/TS).
• Experience in embedded systems and Cortex-M/A is desirable; familiarity with GitHub Actions, PROFINET/EtherNet/IP, RTOS, hardware bring-up, and FOC/PID control is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop and debug embedded software, predominantly in C++ for ARM Cortex-M
• Facilitate software development for the integration of embedded systems with customer and assembly line desktop applications, automated testing systems, and each other
• Support the continual improvement of our agile and highly collaborative, best practice development processes
