Job summary

Intellectual Capital Resources is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer in Cambridge, UK, to lead design and delivery of software-enabled systems across multidisciplinary teams. The role emphasizes architecture definition, hardware-software integration, and collaboration with electronics and systems engineers on innovative products.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, strong embedded experience, and a track record in complex systems.

Qualifications

• Degree (2:1 or above) in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related subject.
• Commercial experience developing embedded software, firmware, or device software.
• Experience with complex embedded systems or hardware-based products.
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, integration, and software design.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded software and firmware for complex embedded devices and physical products.
• Define software and system architectures for connected and embedded systems.
• Lead technical delivery across software, electronics, and systems engineering teams.
• Solve integration, performance, and reliability challenges across complex systems.
• Work with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to define technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical decision-making and best practices.
• Support the development of innovative technologies across a range of sectors and applications.
