Job summary

Chevalier Tech Limited in London is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop and optimise software for next-generation hardware platforms. You will write clean C/C++ for real-time and bare-metal systems, collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up boards, and integrate drivers for SPI, I2C, CAN and UART.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 1+ years in embedded software development.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M/A and C/C++ for embedded platforms.
• Familiarity with RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX) and bare-metal.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, CAN and UART device drivers.
• Experience with debugging tools including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and JTAG/SWD.
• Understanding of secure boot, firmware update mechanisms and embedded cybersecurity.
• Collaborative work with hardware engineers and documentation of software.

• Understanding of low-level debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Working knowledge of hardware schematics and the ability to interpret datasheets.
• Familiarity with safety-critical systems (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
• Knowledge of wireless communication stacks (e.g., Bluetooth, LoRa, Wi-Fi).
• Experience with Python for test automation or scripting.
• Understanding of secure boot, firmware update mechanisms, and embedded cybersecurity.
