Job summary

Ring firmware engineers own software running on IoT devices, from architecture to delivery. You will design and implement firmware for microcontrollers and RTOS, own components end to end, and collaborate with hardware, cloud, and product teams to ship reliable devices.

You will debug across the stack, contribute to CI/test infrastructure, and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to translate requirements into robust firmware features for real-world products.

Qualifications

• A background in professional software development or embedded development in C/C++.
• Experience with an RTOS in production environments: task design, inter-task comms, and synchronization.
• Experience implementing low-level drivers and interrupt service routines.
• Experience with embedded testing: unit/integration tests or CI pipelines for embedded hardware.
• Experience owning a software component end to end from design to delivery and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement firmware for battery-powered and wired IoT devices running on microcontrollers and RTOS environments
• Own components end to end: design, implementation, code review, testing, and maintenance across product generations
• Define and implement software interfaces consumed by other teams and services
• Debug and resolve issues across the full stack, from hardware bring‑up through to production defects in the field
• Contribute to and maintain CI pipelines, build systems, and automated test infrastructure
• Work closely with hardware engineers, cloud engineers, and product managers to translate requirements into reliable firmware
