Oxford Flow is seeking an Embedded Electronics & Firmware Engineer to own embedded electronic products and sub-systems for our next generation of intelligent valves and regulators. You will help shape a major new industrial controller, coordinating with external partners and enhancing existing sensor solutions.
The role offers flexibility, hybrid work from Witney, and opportunities to present technical findings within a robust review process and the broader product roadmap.
Department: Engineering
Location: Witney, UK (Hybrid)
Oxford Flow was founded in 2015 as a spin-out from The University of Oxford and produces some of the most precise and accurate flow control valves in the world. We are an engineering led technology company which has revolutionized valve design with our range of Zero emissions control valves and regulators; these products will transform global fugitive emissions in industries such as oil & gas, gas transmission & distribution, and other process industries.
The addressable market for Oxford Flow’s innovative technology is a £5bn sector of the global £70bn valve and actuator market.
The company has recently secured £20m investment from two major strategic organisations to accelerate its growth plans and we are seeking talented individuals to be part of the exciting journey to follow.
Reporting to the Director of Product Development and Innovation, the Embedded Electronics & Firmware Engineer will provide dedicated electronics and firmware design capability within the Innovation / R&D team, taking technical ownership of the embedded electronic products and sub-systems that underpin Oxford Flow’s next generation of intelligent valves and regulators.
This is a broad and influential role. The successful applicant will play a central part in a major new programme to develop a new industrial electronic controller to integrate with our existing product range. A portion of this development will be delivered with external design partners, so the role carries responsibility for setting requirements, steering and reviewing contracted work, and integrating deliverables into a robust, manufacturable product. Alongside this, the role will support and improve the existing sensor solutions we currently manufacture and contribute embedded expertise across the wider product roadmap.
We are open on level and will shape the role to the individual: it suits an experienced engineer looking to lead the embedded electronics domain, or a strong mid-level engineer ready to broaden into system ownership and contractor management. The engineering team has a rigorous internal technical review process, and the successful applicant should feel comfortable making technical presentations and writing reports to a high standard, working within a technical review environment alongside the rest of the engineering team.
We are an equal-opportunity employer that values diversity and positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, pregnancy or maternity or other applicable legally protected characteristics.
