Job summary

SoCode Recruitment is partnering with a Cambridge-based engineering consultancy to hire an Embedded C/C++ Engineer. You will develop software for medical devices, working across the full development lifecycle from concept to release.

Requirements include a degree in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering and 2–5 years’ commercial experience in C/C++. Familiarity with Python, Git, testing and documentation is expected; knowledge of RTOS/Linux/Qt and IEC 62304 is a bonus.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years’ commercial experience with C and/or C++.
• Good software engineering practices, including Git, testing and documentation.
• Working knowledge of Python.
• Experience with embedded systems, RTOS, Linux, Qt or medical software standards such as IEC 62304 would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Developing high-quality software using C and/or C++.
• Working across the full development lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing and release.
• Collaborating with software, electronics and mechanical engineers.
• Writing robust, well-tested code and clear technical documentation.
• Helping solve complex engineering challenges and bring innovative medical devices to life.
