Job summary

Bolton Wanderers Football Club is recruiting a Youth Development Phase Lead Coach to develop an elite, multi-disciplinary environment for young players, aligned with the club’s coaching philosophy and EPPP requirements.

You will plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions, lead a varied games programme, ensure Individual Learning Plans are delivered and reviewed, assist with admin tasks, monitor progress and contribute to safeguarding and personal CPD within the Academy team.

Qualifications

UEFA A Licence and UEFA B Licence held by candidates.
FA Advanced Youth Award and Enhanced DBS completed.
Emergency First Aid in Football certification obtained; 3+ years in academy environment.

Responsibilities

Plan, deliver and evaluate coaching sessions in line with the Academy’s coaching and playing philosophy.
Lead a varied games programme for players in the Youth Development Phase.
Ensure all players have an Individual Learning Plan which is consistently delivered, reviewed and adapted, with opportunities to practice on highlighted areas.
Assist with administrative tasks related to the role, including recording of sessions, player reviews, learning objectives and weekly reflections through the PMA and other systems.
Monitor and report on the achievement of performance targets and overall progress of the Youth Development Phase.
Manage the transition of players between Youth Development Phase and the Professional Development Phase.
Assist Head of Coaching with Development Action Plans and the Coach Competency Framework.
Attend and contribute to meetings as directed by the Head of Academy or Head of Coaching.
Undertake personal CPD as appropriate to meet the demands of the role.
