Job summary

Liverpool FC is seeking a dedicated Skilled Gardener to maintain horticultural presentation across training grounds, stadium, and surrounding spaces. The role focuses on safe, visually outstanding, and sustainable grounds management within a world-class football environment.

You will work on planting schemes, lawn care, seasonal design improvements, and maintenance of outdoor areas, ensuring a professional image for staff, players and media. Flexibility for matchdays is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in professional horticulture, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of plant species, soil types, turf care, and horticultural best practices.
• Competent in safe and effective use of gardening and grounds machinery.
• Good understanding of health and safety, including COSHH awareness.
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out high-quality maintenance of landscaped areas, planting, pruning, edging, mulching and border management.
• Maintain lawns, ornamental grasses and turf to elite-standard finishes.
• Monitor plant health, soil conditions, and irrigation needs; resolve issues promptly.
• Ensure external areas are clean and presentable for players, staff and visitors.
• Support matchday and event preparations; maintain club surroundings project a professional image.
• Operate and maintain horticultural machinery safely; conduct basic servicing and routine maintenance.
