Job summary

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Glaucoma Fellow in Ophthalmology in Birmingham, UK. The role provides exposure to complex glaucoma management, including MIGS, laser procedures, and major glaucoma surgeries, with hands-on theatre and clinic experience.

You will engage in research, participate in multicentre trials, and contribute to the glaucoma service leadership and education within a modern ophthalmology unit.

Qualifications

• Basic Medical qualification (e.g. MBBS or equivalent).
• FRCS, MRCS, FRCOphth or equivalent.
• Completion of ASTO training in Glaucoma.

Responsibilities

• Participating in specialist clinics and theatres.
• Organising the theatre list and listing urgent patients.
• Ensuring patients on the list have been thoroughly worked up and investigations are of adequate quality.
• Advising colleagues on acute pressure management from clinic/eye case.
