Job summary

Otis is seeking a maintenance mechanic for our Reading operations to ensure passenger safety by maintaining a portfolio of elevator units across your territory and liaising with customers on site.

You will carry out planned visits, respond to breakdowns, perform minor repairs, and work solo or with a team while following safety standards. Otis provides training, a company van, tools, an iPhone and high‑quality work clothes to keep you productive.

Qualifications

• NVQ3 in Lifts maintenance mechanics required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Strong electrical engineering skills.
• Safety-focused professional.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work alone or in a team.
• Comfortable using electronic and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 100% of the elevator maintenance and service visits of the units within your territory.
• Work within your defined geographical area / territory, managing the portfolio of elevators within it.
• Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first time fix.
• Carry out minor repairs to achieve continual operation.
• Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship.
