Job summary

Purely Recruitment Solutions Ltd. in Devizes is recruiting an Electronics Test Technician to diagnose faults, repair PCBs, and perform testing on electronic assemblies for one of our local clients.

You will read circuit diagrams, solder using surface mount and through-hole techniques, and maintain clear diagnostics and repair records. A practical electronics background is valued, and you will work closely with a small, skilled team.

Qualifications

• A relevant electronics qualification is advantageous but not essential.
• Proven practical experience in component-level fault finding and repair.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Fault finding: diagnose electronic and electromechanical assemblies to component level, often without complete diagrams or documentation.
• Component-level repair: carry out detailed repair of PCBs and electronic assemblies.
• Soldering: confident use of soldering equipment, surface mount and through-hole.
• Read and interpret circuit diagrams where available; when documentation is limited, analyze circuitry to determine function and fault.
• Test development: assist in development or improvement of practical test methods and equipment.
• Multitasking: manage multiple repair tasks efficiently, ensuring timely and high-quality outcomes.
• Quality assurance: conduct thorough testing of repaired units to ensure reliability and performance.
• Documentation: maintain clear and accurate records of diagnostics, repair work carried out, and components used.
