Job description

TUALCOM specialise in the design and manufacturing of high technology RF navigation and communication systems. TUALCOM’s UK operation growth has moved into a new and critical phase, with the launch of a UK production line to serve the high demand of our local clients. We are therefore looking for experienced Electronics Assembly Technicians to join.

Position Overview:

The Electronics Test Technician holds a critical role in validating production output and commissioning products use for our clients. The ideal candidate will be competent in reading drawings, performing verification tests, managing system integration, and troubleshooting technical issues. They will possess electromechanical assembly and fine assembly skills. They will also be familiar with calibration and testing procedures using appropriate devices and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Testing Processes and Devices:

  • Utilise advanced knowledge of electronic, RF, and microwave technologies in testing processes.
  • Operate testing equipment such as spectrum analysers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and power meters.
  • Analyse measurement results to identify and resolve signal distortions, interference, and compatibility issues.
  • Enhance product performance based on test results.

Electromechanical Assembly:

  • Perform PCB assembly, cable harnessing, mechanical assembly, and soldering with precision.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail during assembly operations.
  • Manage post-assembly validation processes and quickly resolve any assembly errors.

System Integration:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive experience in software integration, hardware adaptations, and system configuration.
  • Ensure complete implementation of software updates and configurations for products and keeping the database updated to reflect actions taken.
  • Integrate hardware components to optimize system performance.
  • Rapidly identify and resolve technical issues related to system integration.

Problem Solving:

  • Quickly detect and resolve technical problems during assembly, integration, and testing phases.
  • Approach issues proactively to find effective solutions.

What we’re looking for:

  • Electrical Apprenticeship, City & Guilds Level 3, HND, HNC or experience in electronic testing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technician role in testing and assembly.
  • Strong understanding of electronic, RF, and microwave technologies.
  • Proficiency with various testing instruments and software integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise duties in order to meet deadlines.
  • Professional and effective communicator, written and verbal.
